Iroom Hotel

The room smelled bad, with mold and hair everywhere, plus ants. Nobody at reception spoke English. The second star is only because they moved us to a better room.

The staff were friendly and helpful, which is the reason this gets two stars instead of one. We paid 590 baht per room and weren't expecting much, but the place was simply dirty. The first bed had dirt on it and holes in the blanket. After I mentioned it at reception, they moved us to a bigger room as an 'upgrade'. That bed was still dirty, and the towel was full of holes, as if a mouse had been at it. I wouldn't recommend staying here. Avoid it.

I wouldn't stay here. We paid for two nights while travelling back to Bangkok, but gave up after one and moved our bus booking a day earlier. It cost 14 a night, and wasn't worth it. The only thing that could have made it worse would have been cockroaches. There were rats outside, and the front doors were left open at night. I didn't trust the nearby restaurants either, and the staff seemed unfriendly and unconcerned about washing the bedding. The bedding was so dirty, with questionable stains that might have been urine, that we slept in our sleeping bags and didn't use the pillows. I got bites on my feet and legs, which made me wonder about bed bugs or fleas, though there was also a window that never closed fully and stayed open, so it's hard to know. The bathroom explained why there were no photos of it when we booked: a huge patch of mold, visible pipe leaks in the ceiling, and a door that couldn't be kept shut, so the smell drifted into the room. The sink pipes sprayed water when turned on, the shower head leaked, and the ceiling dripped constantly, leaving water pooled on the floor. There was obvious water damage, with cracked and peeling walls. The downstairs area and stairs smelled like cat pee. Staff mostly ignored us when we came and went. The night attendant had a loud little party downstairs, and cigarette smoke from outside came straight to our air conditioner, which also smelled musty and moldy. See the pictures.

It's not bad, just a little pricey for the quality. They don't speak English at all.
