Little PP Hometel

It's a motel with nothing to enjoy. The room was in good condition, but I felt like my parents were monitoring me. They love you, but expect you to behave.

The owner was attentive and helped me check in early, then was there whenever I needed anything. The rooms were clean, with no smells or bugs, and the hotel felt quiet and cozy for a stay of a few nights. There’s a bar about 7 minutes away serving the coolest cocktails in Surrat Thani for 100 THB. A well-mannered, businesslike cat lives at the hotel too!

We had a great stay and would happily return if we're in the area. The hotel is right in downtown Surat Thani, about a 15-minute walk from the great night market. It's a small place with modern decor and a nice atmosphere. Our room was clean, spacious, nicely decorated, and well equipped. The staff were really nice, and their little coffee house makes great coffee.

Some years later, I'm sad to say this little gem has gone downhill and really needs an update. The air conditioning in my room didn't work. The lovely little hotel café, "the blue shep," now looks more like a messy office and isn't working properly. If you want breakfast, you have to order it the night before, and what you get is sad and unappealing. I really hope they give the place a serious pick-me-up, because we loved staying here. When we first visited, it was a beautiful, simple hotel in the best way, with wonderful staff. The hostess was so nice and offered to help us find things to do in town, including the local night market. The air conditioning was so quiet you barely noticed it. The café was great too. It had the best coffee I'd ever tasted in Thailand, and I travel often and love the country. If you need somewhere to stay in Surathani, I highly recommend Little PP Hometel.
