Fortune Surin Hotel

On my return visit, I found a few changes. They no longer take credit cards, and I couldn’t book through a travel agent, so a Thai friend had to call and book directly. The front room cost less, though there was a little road noise. It had a double wardrobe with a locked wooden drawer, which may be a security concern for some. It also seems housekeeping only cleans the room if you hang the request card on the door. The room was spotlessly clean, with drinking water, a kettle, tea and coffee, and a TV. The shower had good pressure and looked fairly modern. There was one fresh towel and a very small bar of soap per person, but no room safe. The bed was firm, though I slept well. The lock was a round handle with a push button and key, so make sure it’s locked before you leave. There’s a cafe next door for breakfast, coffee, and snacks. Good budget hotel with parking, and I’d stay again.

The clean room and good air conditioning gave me a nice first impression, but the towel and sheet charges caused a lot of frustration and spoiled my stay. They said makeup had stained the towels, even though we didn’t wear makeup, and later claimed there was pen on the bedsheets, though we hadn’t used a pen in the room. They wouldn’t show us the sheets or say which bed they came from. Apart from that, I enjoyed the stay a little, but it was very annoying.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and nicely priced. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

Parking is available on site with security, and the rooms are serviced daily. This very nice boutique hotel is close to Surin Hospital and was immaculately presented inside and out. I’m very impressed.
