Magmai Riverside

The balcony looks through the trees toward the river, and it’s a beautiful, quiet setting. Inside there are two big, luxurious bedrooms with TVs, plus a TV room and a karaoke room with a sofa. There’s also a kitchen with a large dining table.

The house is huge, clean and spacious, and the service was excellent. After the long trip from Mae Hong Son, we were a little worried about the accommodation. Our schedule changed slightly and we ended up traveling quite far, arriving very late without stopping to rest in the evening. The staff reassured us that a caretaker would be there to welcome us. In the morning, the river made for a lovely atmosphere. The food and drinks were plentiful and well prepared, so the stay felt very worthwhile. There was a small electricity issue, possibly because the air conditioner was running at the same time. Still, we had a really good stay. It would be amazing in winter, and if we go back, we’ll definitely stay here again.

It’s a private place with a very large, clean house. I loved the atmosphere by the Ping River, with a party table and a pavilion beside the water. We skipped dinner, but breakfast was included in the price and there was plenty: pork rice soup, fried eggs, hot dogs, pickled bamboo shoot curry with chicken, steamed rice, and coffee you can make yourself. The kitchen is very clean and well equipped with a microwave, gas stove, rice cooker, kettle, fridge, cups and bowls. The caretaker gave good service, and I liked it so much I’d stay again.

The private house is very large, and the party table beside the Ping River makes for a great atmosphere. Overall, the positives outweigh the drawbacks. The pillows and blankets smelled, and the shower pressure was too strong with an inconsistent flow. Those things could use improvement.
