White House Hotel

A great deal for a quick stop on the way to Chiang Mai. The hotel is very clean and right off the highway. The pool is really nice, and there’s an auntie and uncle restaurant on one side and a PTT station on the other, with a 7-11, Amazon Cafe and more food options. The sheets were clean, and the room had a hot water pot, a large fridge and fast WiFi. Breakfast was decent, though we arrived a little late.

We enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean, and there’s nice artwork around the hotel. It has breakfast, EV charging and a pool, including a kids’ pool.

For a basic place to sleep, it’s good value at 650bht (£16) per night with breakfast. It delivers what’s advertised. The hotel is dated and worn, breakfast is limited, and the atmosphere is a bit spooky, like the film "The Shining". It’s on the main road, about 2 miles / 3 kms from anywhere with much going on. For the price, though, what can you expect?

The breakfast is outstanding, and the breakfast room is beautiful and comfortable. The hotel is clean and attractive, with comfortable beds, good service, a fridge, a coffee pot, coffee and sugar, and free water. There’s parking right by the room. They also sell ice for 10 TBH and drinks, including alcohol, for almost the same price as at 7-Eleven. The pool can be noisy, with children swimming late in the evening. Be aware there’s no lift. Older people and anyone with a bad leg should call ahead to reserve a first-floor room. On our first stay, the room at the back was quiet. This time we were given a third-floor room at the front, where traffic, trucks and motorcycles kept us awake all night. We’ll come back, but only if they guarantee us a first-floor room at the back.
