Isara Khao Lak

We had a large group and got adjoining apartments with a private pool, which was wonderful. The place was clean, bright, spacious, and self contained, and it was an affordable option compared with the area's expensive resorts. A car let us travel around, though taxis are another possibility. There was plenty of parking, and Khao Lak is a 10-minute drive away for the market and nightlife. The photos online didn't match the property as it is now, which disappointed us at first. The gardens need attention, and a new multi-storey hotel behind the property isn't shown. The shared area where we imagined having evening barbecues also needs a lot of work. We had a few maintenance problems, but Nisa and her team sorted them out fairly quickly. It's a walk to local restaurants, and the white sandy beach is about 15 minutes away on foot, with lots of kid-friendly places to eat. For toddlers who need a cot, make sure to request a large one when booking. Breakfast costs extra and the choices are limited to American or Thai; room service is available daily. Laundry and a mini mart are conveniently next door. The spa and shuttle are no longer running. We loved having our own space. For outings, Takuapa is worth visiting for its architecture, market, local produce, and Thai specialties. We also went to the Khao Lak Elephant sanctuary, the National Park, and nearby waterfalls.

The owners were so kind and friendly, and this will definitely be our regular resort on future Khao Lak trips. We spent two lovely nights at Isara Khao Lak. The houses are stunning, spotless, very comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed, like a little home away from home. Our little house was just a few steps from the pool. The location worked perfectly, with beautiful Pak Weep beach a 10-minute walk away and plenty of small local eateries within walking distance.

The staff were very kind, and the room was clean, roomy, and smelled nice. It also had kitchen equipment, so you could cook. Bang-Sak beach is just a few minutes away, though the market is quite far if you don't have a car.

The pet-friendly setup was the best part for us, since I could bring my bunny along. She could roam freely around the huge place, which was immaculate and really felt like a second home. Everything was handy, including a fully stocked fridge. The staff arranged anything we needed, from washing and food to horse riding and taxis. I can't fault the stay. I've now been twice, in two separate rooms, and both were outstanding. Go!
