The riverside setting is lovely, with a green garden and calm, peaceful views over the water. The rooms are cozy, and it’s a great place to stay in the Takua Pa area.

You’ll need your own transport to explore the area, especially since the family no longer serves food or breakfast, despite what older reviews may say. That’s a small tradeoff for staying in a very local village with little tourism and a real sense of authenticity. The family are very helpful and friendly, even though they don’t speak English, and they’ll go out of their way with Google Translate. The bungalows sit right on a small lake, with a lovely breeze and a quiet, relaxing feel. Rooms are spotless and well kept, with the basics: good WiFi, a fridge, towels, and toiletries.

A very calm spot for relaxing, with just three small bungalows and nature around, near the lake. Getting there takes a bit of figuring out: turn off the road toward the lake, then at another hotel turn left, go past it, and you’ll come to the lake and bungalows. The staff are friendly, but don’t really speak English, so have Google Translate ready. It costs 700 baht a day, which felt entirely reasonable. The bungalow was in good condition and had air conditioning and a hot shower. The WiFi was weak and only worked by the table, not from my phone or laptop in bed. I spotted a few small ants during my two-night stay. They didn’t bother me, but something to keep in mind if insects worry you.

It’s a comfortable, clean and quiet place beside a beautiful lake, lovely for sitting and watching the sunset. The staff are lovely, too. There’s no reception desk, though, which makes it hard for guests without a car or bike to get information or arrange transport. There isn’t really a go-to person.
