Kokotel Khao Lak Isara Casa

The smell in the room was intolerable, like one big toilet. We bought 10 scented deodorizers at the store, but even that didn’t help. The team cleaned the bathroom and sent a plumber, yet the smell remained. We had to stay four nights and pay the price we did for that quality. They offered another room, but it was smaller and a different type from what we’d paid for, and no refund or partial refund was offered. The photos make the place look better than it is. The pools felt dirty and were small. One was a pet pool, but the website didn’t clearly label it, so our kids went in without knowing. The room had scratches and scuffs on the walls and cabinets, peeling paint, and dated appliances that didn’t work well. We also noticed gas or fumes during our stay and reported that as well as the room smell. The front desk got frustrated with us for raising multiple issues. The location was okay since we had a car, but it wouldn’t have been great without one. It’s on the main road, so rooms toward the front may get street noise. We wouldn’t stay again and sadly can’t recommend it.

We’ll definitely come back. Our two-bedroom duplex at Kokotel was spacious and comfortable, and great value for the price. K. Karn, the manager, arranged a great long-stay deal for my friend. K. Karn, May and Mook at reception all had genuine smiles and provided excellent customer service. Housekeeping and the new staff were great as well.

Just a short walk of a few hundred meters to the beach, and the place is quiet. It’s a typical bed and breakfast, and they welcome pets, which is awesome.

The staff were kind and friendly, and helped us throughout our stay. Special thanks to Ghan, Fang, Mook and May for always being there with a smile. The rooms were cozy, comfortable and clean. We had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend it.
