I came for two nights and ended up staying three weeks. Monkey Dive Hostel quickly felt like home, thanks to the very friendly staff and the lovely travelers I met there. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, clean, and affordable. The laid back crowd suited the divers who stay here, and staff pointed me toward great spots for sunrise and sunset. I got some amazing photos during my stay. My only downside was that I didn't want to leave. I really fell in love with the place, and this review still doesn't capture what it meant to me. If you're spending time in this beautiful coastal town, I'd happily book a few nights at monkey Dive.

The team did everything they could to help us. We were traveling with a friend who uses a wheelchair, and the room doorway was too narrow for them to get through. There was no wheelchair friendly entrance, which was a real drawback. The hostel itself was very clean and pleasant, with a quiet location, an always clean bathroom, and enough room in the double bedroom. We didn't try it, but they also have a diving school and snorkeling trips. We'd definitely come back.

The beach is about a 15 minute walk away, which was the main drawback for me, but it was good value. The common areas are spacious, the games room is comfortable, the kitchen is clean, and tea and coffee are free at breakfast. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable, and the showers and toilets are well maintained. There are nice gardens, parking, and pleasant surroundings. It also seems likely to be much safer from a once in a millennium devastating tsunami than the high end hotels right on the beach.

Monkey dive is a great base if you're traveling on a budget and want to explore the area, including the Similan or Surin Islands. The rooms are very clean and the staff are super friendly. The town is geared toward families and resorts, so this little hostel feels like a nice change. Highly recommended.

We had a really good stay. The room was clean, and the price was great. There's a kitchen guests can use to enjoy their own food, plus free coffee and tea for breakfast.
