Comsaed River Kwai Resort

The grounds were lovely and peaceful, with room to walk around and play, and breakfast was mellow and yummy. We were a family of four in the suite. It was spacious, with a divider so the kids could sleep in one area while we had our own space.

We’ve been here twice now and are already looking forward to coming back. The room was clean and nice, and the river setting has a great view and fresh air for walking around. Breakfast was very good too.

After spending a lovely week at Comsaed, my first stay since 2016, I found it even more beautiful than before. The mature trees and gardens now offer lasting shade along the paths, where you can spot tropical birds. The pool has been remodeled, everything is still well maintained, and the front desk team and other staff were excellent. The Spa also gave excellent, professional massages. Thank you, Khun Puen! Our family has been coming here since 2002, and the resort remains a special place. Comsaed was designed and built in the early 1990s as a quiet retreat. It has fragrant trees, lavish gardens, ponds, bridges for walking, spacious accommodations, a lovely open lobby and restaurant with French Colonial character, its own organic garden, meditation areas, and a quiet river alongside. The original designer deserves thanks, and an ecological award, for creating and maintaining such a masterpiece. It’s isolated, so there isn’t much to do outside the resort. Lat Ya is 8 km away and boring. There’s no handicap access, making it a poor choice for anyone with mobility constraints. The beds are somewhat hard and less comfortable than I’d like. I also prefer the Garden Wing, but bright lights outside its front doors shine into the rooms at night, so they aren’t fully dark. I’m not sure whether changing the lights or shading the glass would fix that. I understand there’s a new owner who is a good business person. European tourists arrive in large guided groups, many around 70 or older, and seem to come for a day before leaving on their trips through Thailand. Independent travelers can end up surrounded by one of these groups. It’s a little strange, though not a problem, and I just wanted to mention it. Thanks, Comsaed, for this unique natural wonderland. The resort covers 60 rai, with beautiful trees throughout its well-kept garden. We had a lovely stay, and the rooms were clean with comfortable beds.
