If you’re hoping to swim at a beach, you’ll need to drive to somewhere like Chao Lao. This spot itself is calm and very clean, with two pools, a good breakfast, and hammocks at some of the rooms. The owners are decent people. At low tide you can wander across the muddy flats, if that appeals. At high tide, especially in rainy weather, waves hit the barrier and sometimes splash the chairs beside the seaside pool, which is fun to watch. With a car, it’s handy for Chao Lao, mangroves, Chantaburi town, waterfalls, gem mines, and more.

We’d be happy to return. It’s a lovely area with very good seafood restaurants, and our stay was pleasant. The grounds are cared for, our villa was very clean and seemed recently updated, and the view was quite nice. The water and beach are only good to look at. There was a little algae in spots in the pool, but we still enjoyed swimming. Breakfast was very good and served right on time. Staff treated us well, though we saw one customer speaking loudly to them and the staff seemed unhappy. Friday was quiet, while loud music came from another property on Saturday.

The location is good, but the bed was old and hard, so sleeping wasn’t comfortable. Service didn’t impress me much, and you can’t swim at the beach.

We arrived early and were allowed to check in. The room was excellent, and the location worked well. Our chalet didn’t face the sea, but it had a nice private outdoor area.

For a small boutique hotel with fewer than 20 rooms, this is a nice place to get some peace and quiet. The property is right by the sea, though the hotel beach isn’t for swimming, and Chantaburi beach isn’t as good as Rayong’s. There are plenty of inexpensive seafood places nearby, so you don’t have to rely on the hotel’s food.
