We’d happily come back. It’s pet-friendly and works well for families, with friendly staff and excellent service. The beachfront setting feels calm and spacious, with plenty of places to sit by the sea and enjoy the view. Our room was clean, new, and looked just like the photos.

A really relaxed, pet-friendly spot. The rooms are clean and roomy, with lots of space for your pets, and the staff are sweet and clearly love animals. It’s also close to a fish market for fresh seafood, and there’s a barbecue area ready to use. Great for an easygoing break.

The pool water was disgusting, and the pool and other facilities were a joke. Our mattress was dirty, the sheets had stains, and the bathroom was falling apart. For a hotel this far below standard, the price was way too high. They also didn’t mention on the booking page that renovations were underway, which made the stay even more disappointing. I wanted to give one star, but didn’t want to be that harsh.

It’s right by the beach, with private bungalows, a nice pool, and seafood. A good base for exploring this Provence, though you need to book for weekends. There are places nearby for seafood and fruit, and the sunsets are beautiful. Go buy some crab at the pier, and walk along the beach when the tide is out.

The staff were really nice and friendly, but breakfast had limited choices, even on a busy weekend. The room felt old and stuffy, and I didn’t sleep well. They also require a 1000 THB deposit per room, which seemed too high and unnecessary. Chanthaburi has hotels and resorts for all budgets. Chao-lao beach is a popular destination, and a good choice if you’re looking for somewhere calm and peaceful.
