Abundant Eco Hostel

The rooms are clean and spacious, and the bathrooms are big too. Each has a small kitchenette with essentials and a fridge, which makes this a handy place for a longer stay. Jacky and her team were always around and very helpful. Such a great find in a good location. I'll definitely stay here again.

I booked for 16-19 Jan 2026 in Aug 2025, but only five days before check-in they told me they couldn't host me. That was after I repeatedly messaged to ask for check-in details. By then, nearby places were either full or charging much more. They wouldn't take responsibility, ignored repeated requests for a reasonable explanation or a solution, and gave me no answer. Shady place and poor service. Stay at your own risk.

This place was well below what I expected. Imagine booking a room, then being told to leave or lose your down payment, even though I'd followed what was requested. I'd call that a scam. I have screenshots of my conversations with them and will post one if they don't respond soon. I also have the rest of the evidence if they don't stick to our terms and conditions. I'll wait to see whether they return my down payment or give me a positive response, and then decide whether to escalate it. That's their choice.

The construction was still going on, with workers banging, drilling, and talking loudly late into the night. When I messaged the contact person, who could only be reached on WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger because there's no front desk, she argued that it couldn't have happened because she'd checked the CCTV and the workers were gone. Later, paint had dripped onto our shoes outside the door. She suggested I was lying and used the same CCTV explanation. The airport pickup we'd arranged didn't happen on time, and nobody answered when I tried to contact them. After a long wait I was worried it was a scam, then the driver finally arrived and took us to the hotel. We asked for two beds but got one queen bed. They said they'd change it the next night, but didn't. The stairs were very steep and slippery, with no handrail. I chose a hotel near Laguna beach for a swim race the next morning, and the woman told us it was a five-minute walk. We found it was at least a 15-minute drive instead. We had less than one full roll of toilet paper for two days, and no one replaced our towels. Cars, motorbikes, and trucks on the road out front were extremely loud at night and barreled past at all hours. They should have waited until construction was finished before opening. They have a lot to learn about communication and customer service. There were more annoyances than this stay was worth.
