The smell was outrageous, and the rooms are in the basement. We stayed in room 3, which had no proper shower, and the dark blue bed sheets shown in the photos looked like they were from the 1990s. There were ants in the bathroom, and rooms only get cleaned after you leave, never during your stay. The owner didn't speak any English. Despite the hostel's name, the beach isn't within walking distance. Absolutely disgusting, I wouldn't let my dog stay there.

The rooms are tiny and in the basement. There's barely any room around the bed, and there was an unpleasant smell. The hot shower and working AC were fine, but not enough to justify the price. The staff were unwelcoming and unavailable on several occasions, seemed not to care, and barely spoke English. The room wasn't very clean either, with a slug in the bathroom. It was okay for the two nights we stayed, but I wouldn't come back.

The owners were absolutely lovely, and we couldn't fault the place. Everything was newly renovated and very clean, with good shower pressure and useful things like safes and a microwave. It's about a 20-minute walk to the beach, and the other way, restaurants, shops, and the mall area are 10 minutes away. Near beach hostel has been our favourite place to stay so far. We'd recommend it.

The owners were so friendly, and even offered us watermelon in the evening, plus complimentary tea, coffee, and toast in the mornings. They also have a beautiful, friendly cat. The place was very clean and good value for the area, and the location worked perfectly for us since we wanted to be as close as possible to the Laguna Resort. 10/10.
