The villa was modern, quite nice, and well looked after, but the whole experience felt detached from Thailand. The huge estate, walls, and security gates made it feel like a fortress, with long walks in circles to get around. I didn’t enjoy the exclusive atmosphere. I saw wealthy tourists and influencers, mainly from Russia, and no local people. Thailand feels safe and friendly, so isolating yourself from everyday local life seemed unnecessary. Prices were much higher than elsewhere, attractions were far away, and getting a taxi could be a struggle. You also have to pay for the stay and deposit in cash. Since this was our last stop, getting our 10,000 THB deposit back in cash on the final day was very inconvenient.

We booked through Airbnb and had a beautiful villa with spacious rooms, a private pool, and a peaceful setting. It was well maintained and suited our group of 10-12 people. There’s plenty of food and shopping close by.

Laguna Park 2 has lots of space, and there are many new things coming to the area. Laguna is the best place to live in Phuket, in my view. It does cost more, but I think it’s worth it. Estate management and support matter a lot, and I think they do the best job.
