The Wood Terrace

We stayed in the tiny house. It’s cute, but there isn’t much room, especially for luggage. Next time I’d prefer another room near the pool. The hotel’s scooter rental was great and hassle-free. DAW was the best of the staff, really friendly and helpful.

The room itself was exactly as advertised, and the infrastructure would get 5/5 from me. We stayed five days and four nights at The Wood Terrace in January 2026, booking through Airbnb, which worked really well and let us pick the exact room. From the photos and other reviews, we chose Room No.14 with pool access. There are five pool access rooms: four side by side along the two main pools, plus one separate, slightly raised room crosswise at the far end of the pool area. No. 14 was the last in its row, with nothing opposite it. The other standalone room’s glass front is exposed to people walking by or using the pool, and the route to the main entrance passes it. We like having a drink or cigarette in the chairs outside our room, so number 10 would have given us almost no privacy. Our room was spacious, with a generous bed, a small sofa and coffee table, a desk, and a roomy bathroom with a large shower. The glass front makes the rooms very transparent, so you’ll want the curtains closed at any time of day. There’s a Smart-TV with decent compatibility, no hotel operating system nonsense, so you can log into your streaming app. The staff experience was the biggest letdown. Except for Dao, who always smiled and did her best to be hospitable despite being very shy, nobody greeted us during our four nights. Not when we walked around the property, stood by the coffee shop and reception, or looked at the coffee menu in front of the cash register. Guests had to start every conversation. No “welcome,” “good morning,” or “how can I help you.” It was hard to believe, and after five days it felt awkward and unwelcoming, like we were a burden instead of guests. The rooms look beautiful, are brand new, tastefully colored, detailed, spacious and well equipped, but I suspect the same issues affect the others too. The walls are thin and uninsulated, and the rooms heat up quickly while you’re away. Even in the afternoon, the room can be hotter than outside, so the AC has to run constantly and takes a while to bring it down to 24-25 degrees. The main wall holds a lot of heat, still warm to the touch at night after hours of AC, so the unit keeps working to maintain the temperature. The outside condenser is mounted directly to the room’s main wall rather than on the ground, and gets noisy as it runs for 90 seconds every four minutes. I uploaded a video recorded in the middle of the night without background noise to show it. We had some partying during the stay, which helped us sleep through it, but I struggled to fall asleep on the last night. Others might find it bothersome too.

Our Wood Pool Access Room felt like a home away from home. It was spotless and comfortable, with an extremely comfortable bed and AC that worked perfectly. The staff were all friendly, professional and attentive, and made the stay memorable. We had a fantastic time at The wood terrace and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Phuket. Can’t wait to return!

The location is quite secluded, but everything else was perfect. Ms Daws from WOODS TERRACE was especially helpful and accommodating, and made the whole trip worthwhile. If you want time away from the bustle of patong or Phuket town, this place is hard to beat.
