We stayed 09/11-12/11 2025. This seems suited to an overnight stop, one or at most two nights while passing through, and you need a car. The hotel looked nice in the pictures, but the claims of a sea view from the King Suite, in both the text and photos, were completely wrong. None of the three rooms had a sea view, just mature jungle. When we asked about the sea view, the answer was “no have.” That’s false marketing. There’s no restaurant nearby, and there are a great many wild dogs in the area. Our room was clean, but the shower and shower head had a lot of limescale. The room was large, with a good ceiling fan and air conditioning, a comfortable sofa, free parking, and a bed firmness of 8 on their scale (0 sinks through, 5 average, 10 lies on top of the mattress). The King Suite has no door for the toilet or shower. There was one parasol for seven sunbeds. Breakfast rated 1 for choice, 5 for quality, and 1 for value. The choice is six fixed options plus some jam, cereal, and white bread. The food was well prepared, which helped a little. For reference, their breakfast scales run from 1 for a sparse selection to 10 for an overwhelming one, 1 for terrible quality to 10 for the highest possible, and 1 for poor value to 10 for definitely worth it. Overall value for money was 1 on a scale where 0 means throwing money away, 5 break even, and 10 highest profit.

We left earlier than planned, and there was no one at reception when we did. We’ve traveled in Thailand many times, and this was the worst place we’ve stayed. The hotel is run-down, the restaurant was closed, and there’s nothing nearby. It shouldn’t be rented out. Stray dogs were everywhere and felt dangerous, and at night it seemed like they were swimming in the pool. We were almost the only guests. The room was advertised with a sea view, but overgrown trees blocked the view from every room. The bathroom was disgusting with heavy limescale, and there was no toilet door. The air conditioning took ages to cool the room. Breakfast was very basic, the worst selection we’ve had on our travels. I’m shocked by the positive reviews and wonder if they’re real. It was a horrible experience.

The beachfront setting is stunning, and the villas are beautiful and well cared for. We felt looked after from the moment we arrived. The staff were warm, friendly, and attentive throughout, and took care of every detail, making the stay feel special. A peaceful, luxurious getaway with wonderful service. Highly recommend Tungtong Beach Villas.
