Thatphanom View Hotel

The place is set back from the road, so it was quiet, though a little outside town. There’s plenty of parking on site. Our room was large and clean, and the bathroom was basic but tidy with a good shower. Breakfast eggs and toast were cooked fresh, and the staff were exceptionally friendly.

We stayed for two weeks with our two children in a family VIP room, a two-bedroom double ensuite apartment on the fourth level, and felt safe there. The staff were sweet and helpful, and having laundry done and the room serviced made traveling with children much easier. The hotel is a comfortable, clean traditional Thai place and worked well as a base for exploring that phanom and nearby areas. We also enjoyed visiting the Lao market. The WiFi was handy, and they were able to switch the movie channel to English. It was an unforgettable stay, and we’ll be back.

Housekeeping was amazing, and the laundry service was excellent. The boutique rooms are large, Pakbar restaurant is right at the doorstep, and the location is great, close to temples. You can look across the Mekon River to Laos from here. On Mondays and Thursdays there’s a market about 300 mt up the road, where Laosian people sell their produce. The hotel was comfortable and clean, with a good buffet breakfast, and room service is available too.
