The beach is close, you can walk to the shops easily, and there are people here from all over the world. Have a chat and make a friend. There’s good Wi-Fi, which worked for my computer work. There’s also a pool, a place to shower after swimming in the ocean, and a spot to relax on the beach. Beers are available on site, with lunch at the restaurant and a new pizza shop for dinner. This is a basic 3 star place, and Koh Mook is still developing as tourism grows in the north of the country. Expect something primitive rather than luxurious. This island is for people who want a break from the comforts of modern life. The property is a work in progress. The staff are around and helpful, but seem overwhelmed by all the work involved in running a place like this, and there’s a learning curve. Be patient and kind when visiting a small island. The smoke from burning trash at 3pm fills the property and makes you want to leave for the rest of the day. The dogs pretty much run the place. Don’t feed them or they’ll follow you around. There are at least 10, so if you don’t like dogs 🐕, this might not be for you. I didn’t mind, it gave the property some character. The place could use some updates and a coat of paint. The speed boat drops people off daily, and the island is growing fast, with other places and new construction around. But if you want to stay right on the beach at a good price, this is the spot. Think high end camping 👍🏼
