The private beach was the highlight for me, with clear water and lovely views at different times of day. Mira Montra Resort Koh Mak also has a calm, relaxing feel that made it easy to switch off. The staff were warm and welcoming, and we loved spending quiet mornings by the shore. We'd happily return for another peaceful island getaway.

We ended up adding a fourth night to our three-night stay because we loved it so much. The resort was beautiful, very clean, and quiet, with a private beach and a clean pool. Our pretty room was cleaned daily, and the staff were sweet and helpful. It felt perfect for a romantic break, and I had the best Mango I've ever eaten here. I asked about vegan breakfast options, and they made me a vegan Asai and spring rolls. We'll definitely come back. Thank you ❣️

What made this stay so upsetting was the way we were treated, not simply the property's age or the maintenance problems. The island is breathtaking, the hotel's look is lovely, and some staff members are genuinely kind and charming. That's why we felt we had to write this. We came for six nights to celebrate our honeymoon and rest, but were left feeling hurt and unwelcome. We still haven't received a proper reply or resolution, and expect the hotel to address this promptly. At check-in, reception knew I have a leg disability, but gave us a room reached only by stairs. The stairs were dirty and covered in animal waste. Once inside, we heard something overhead and a lizard fell from the ceiling. We were moved, then the air conditioner started leaking constantly the next day. The outlets were faulty too, and fire ants were in the walls. We let maintenance look into it, hoping we could finally relax. The following day, water leaked through the shower ceiling. We reported it and asked to be told before anyone entered, so we could protect our belongings. When we came back two hours later, the ceiling had been opened above our things. Debris and insects were all over everything we owned. We were shocked. The only two English-speaking staff came to the room after we called reception. We couldn't get answers or speak to the manager. They said our only option was emailing, though the same front desk staff would receive the message. We were moved to a third room, but by then the damage was done. We'd paid a significant amount for a peaceful honeymoon and felt stranded on an island through one disaster after another, met with indifference. The manager has never contacted us, and none of our repeated follow-up emails got a response. The only offer was a free meal, which felt insulting in the circumstances. The facilities themselves weren't what ruined the honeymoon. It was the lack of care and professional courtesy. We remain deeply hurt by the disrespect and still have no proper response or resolution to everything that went wrong.

The bungalow was spotless, with excellent pillows and bedding. Wi-Fi worked adequately, and the TV had Samsung channels. Restaurant hours were limited, but the food was tasty and fairly priced. Transfers from the pier are included, though you need to tell the hotel when you're arriving. Most staff were friendly and pleasant, but two were rude and disrespectful. One loudly yelled that breakfast wouldn't start until 7:30 am. Disgusting behavior, and I think that staff member should be fired. If food is out on the table, I'll eat it when I want. If the restaurant opens its doors at 7:00 am, people may expect to eat, otherwise keep them closed. There were lots of sandflies that bite and leave welts. I don't recommend this property.

We had a clean, comfortable room up on the hillside, with an amazing view across the bay. The place was great, and the staff made it even better. They were friendly, courteous, and very helpful with reasonable requests, always willing to go the extra mile. Their care for guests felt real, beyond the usual Thai hospitality and service with a smile.
