The Woods Natural Park Resort Phuket

The pool area looked neglected, with leaves and debris floating in the water, and the property generally seemed run down and poorly cared for. Staff eventually moved me to another room after I asked, but the stay was still far below an acceptable standard, with poor cleanliness, maintenance, and basic comfort. I can't recommend this place. In the first room, the window frames were partly detached from the outside wall, leaving visible gaps where wind came through. It was also very dirty, with sticky marks on the furniture and floor, mold on the curtains, and dust, despite staff repeatedly saying it would be cleaned. After several complaints, I got a different room. The window problem was fixed there, but insects kept crawling around inside. I told staff again, and they didn't take effective steps to improve things.

Getting around is only convenient if you have a scooter, since everything is far away. Check-in was very basic, just handing over the room key, with no information about wifi, breakfast, or the pool. The A/C sits above the bed, makes a lot of noise, and leaks water. It was really hard to sleep, especially at a place called “natural park” when all you hear through the night is a motor.

The restaurant's limited hours were a small drawback, since it closes at 8 PM, but knowing that ahead of time makes it easy to plan around. Everything else made for a really enjoyable stay. The hotel is quiet but close to what you need, and the pool is a lovely place to unwind. My room was spotless, and room service was quick, friendly, and especially helpful. I'd happily return to this clean, peaceful hotel.

We had a great stay in December, with friendly staff and clean rooms. The water pressure was pretty low, and the bright LED on the air conditioning made it hard to sleep.
