For a backpacker looking for cheap accommodation, this is a perfect choice. The rooms are simple because it’s really inexpensive, but they’re clean and cozy, and the service is great. The owner can arrange boat transfers and other things. I’d skip the restaurant and go to the night market instead. The food there is expensive and not very good, apart from maybe the barbecue. Breakfast was very bland, and they were missing half the ingredients.

A nice place right in the heart of the city. There are about five or six rooms and just one shared bathroom. The Thai ladies were nice, and one speaks English and can arrange a ride to the pier. They had cute kids, too :)

The house is lovely, with an old style and lots of space to sit, but the rest of my stay had a lot of problems. The room had only one fan, and I couldn’t stop it from swinging back and forth. There was no clothes rack or place to keep even a towel in the bathroom, and the Western toilet had no flush. The geyser wasn’t working, so there was no hot water. I also had some awkward interactions with the family. They couldn’t speak English, and when I was talking to them, they would leave midway and start doing other things instead of trying to understand. I was left standing there, unsure if they were coming back or what was happening. Once, one of the girls came into my locked room using an extra key while I was inside. She looked embarrassed and apologized many times, but I still have no idea why she had the key or entered in the first place. For me, the stay fell short for a lot of reasons.

The host was very friendly, and the bed was really comfy, which was just as well since there isn’t much to do in Trat after 10 pm. I’d highly recommend it.

The service felt really awkward. Our food took forever to arrive and wasn’t good. Then our drinks only came after we’d finished eating. I wouldn’t recommend it.
