We'd stay at the AVA hotel again. It's handy for a night before a flight, right beside Udon Thani Airport, and from our sixth-floor room we could watch planes arrive and leave on the runway. The room was fine, with cold air conditioning and a large bathroom with plenty of hot water. Wi-Fi stayed stable, and unusually for a hotel in Thailand, it was secured. Check-in was quick, though they took a 300 Baht room deposit. There's one lift for the seven floors, and parking too. Breakfast was decent, especially compared with hotels charging more than twice as much. Staff were friendly. It seems a lot of guests are just staying overnight because of the airport.

Breakfast had a good range, and the staff were pleasant. The hotel was clean and tidy, but the walls are so thin you can hear people talking or watching TV in the hall and neighboring rooms. Some planes can be heard since it borders the airport, though it wasn't too bad. If you arrive before the 2pm check-in, expect to wait until then or pay by the hour to get into your room sooner. The taxi ride is about two minutes, so don't pay more than 60-100 baht.

The Thai-style breakfast was delicious: rice, porridge, side dishes, curries, bread, fruit, and coffee. Our Deluxe Room on a high floor had a stunning panoramic airport view, which made the stay feel special. It was comfortable and well designed, with a soft bed and all the amenities we needed. The complimentary minibar was a nice extra, and parking at the back was convenient. For somewhere so close to the airport, it was great value. We'd definitely return.

The rooms are conveniently close to the airport, and airport transfer is included. The bathrooms smelled a little, possibly because there are some drain problems.
