The room was spacious, clean, well designed, and had good lighting, a TV, and a very comfortable bed. The hotel is within walking distance of the centre. Showers are fair by Thai standards, though you have to lower the pressure if you want hot water. Noise was our main problem: you could hear everything from other rooms and the hallway, and sounds carried a long way. The bathroom door has a large gap at the top, and the bathroom isn’t sealed from the neighboring bathroom or bedroom, so there’s no privacy when using it. Breakfast is a minimalist buffet. Coffee isn’t available after noon, and there’s no way to refill your water bottle.

The room smelled clean, and the sheets, pillows, towels, toilet, fridge, and hallway were all CLEAN. Though the hotel is five years old, it feels newly built. The walls are thick, and the curtains keep out the sun and streetlights. It’s a quiet corner, so I slept really well. One note: the pillows are very thin, which some people may like. The staff had good manners and were very helpful, and the owner was around and helpful too. Street food is right across the road. It’s 350 m to Udonwalking street and 1.7 km to central Plaza, with other restaurants and cafes around. Worth the money, and the best budget hotel for hospitality in Udon, in my view.

Even on a short stay, I was very pleased with the service and the cleanliness. The room was large, and the front desk helped me find suitable transport at a great price. I’ll definitely stay at Clay again.

Big, clean rooms, simple design, and friendly staff. Parking is available, and there’s a small breakfast each morning. Lots of restaurants nearby, and the price is reasonable. Must come stay.
