Room 1109, a junior suite I upgraded to, was technically perfect and extremely nice for my extended stay. It had direct access to the pool patio and was away from the main lobby. Since January is colder and the pool wasn't in use, it was peaceful and quiet. The room also had a hot water kettle. I booked on a budget, and the hotel gives the three-star experience it advertises. The online photos are from a bygone era. The hotel no longer has in-room minibars or complimentary coffee and tea, and the main restaurant isn't operating, so food service is limited to breakfast. You can buy everything you need at a shop about a 4 to 5 minute walk away. It's an easy walk to malls and food stores. The staff I dealt with were doing their best to provide top-tier service. It's not listed as a five-star property, but my stay was perfect. I'd choose it again, especially if budget is the main concern.

I stayed here for three days, and the pool was still green despite someone trying to clean it. The gardens were dead and hadn't been maintained. There was no internet, room service, breakfast room, or tea and coffee in the rooms. Water pressure was low at night, with no cold water. The bed linen was disgusting and the towels were old. There was no door service or help with luggage this time. When we returned from shopping, our suitcases had been left in the hallway outside our doors. I'd stayed several times before and it used to be a great hotel. I was looking forward to swimming, but the pool was green. We had to go to the attached coffee shop for breakfast, with very limited choice. There were too many faults to list. I'd booked four days this month but cancelled. I won't ever come back.

The room was big, clean, and really nice. Everything else was terrible. There was nobody at reception, so check-in meant waiting around. The pool was green, clearly uncleaned, and unusable. Wi-Fi was so bad I couldn't watch YouTube without buffering every couple of minutes. There was no breakfast, the water pressure was very low, and there was no hot water. The hotel is down a creepy alley with hardly any streetlights. It seemed like it had once been a good hotel, but those days are gone. At 1300 baht a night, it wasn't worth the price. At 300-400 baht, maybe I could overlook it, but there are much better options at that rate. The online photos need updating. They look like they're from years ago, when the place was in its prime, and guests should know what they're actually booking instead of being misled by polished, outdated pictures.

The pool area was spacious when I went for a swim, though maybe a little tired. I've not tried breakfast yet. If there's anything to mention, I'll add it to my review. This is my first visit, and I really like the place. It has a slightly old-fashioned charm and some character. The friendly staff had me smiling as soon as I saw the hotel. It's about a five-minute walk from the centre of things, but tucked down a side street so it's very quiet. I think it may be struggling for some reason, as it's so quiet. I've stayed in four-star hotels until now on this trip. This is the first three-star, but to me it's better value and a better hotel. I'd recommend it. Well worth the price.

The pool was disgusting when I arrived, though I booked this place because it had a swimming pool. They said they'd clean it that day, but it was already 3 in the afternoon. I'd bet it still hasn't been cleaned.
