The Lake Udon

The hotel bar is closed, but there are lots of restaurants beside the park. The hotel is near a lake, too: cross the road in the evening and you can walk, run, or cycle along it for at least 3 km. I stayed two nights and enjoyed it in every respect. I booked through Agoda because the rate there was lower than at reception. My room cost 700 baht, with coffee. Excellent accommodation.

Hotel THE LAKE has 50 very clean rooms, though only eight rooms on the fifth and sixth floors have lake views. We especially liked the suite on the sixth floor, which is accessible by elevator. Breakfast is served in a bright, attractive room, with four choices, some unusual, and you can order as much as you like. The setting on Nong Prajak Lake is peaceful, just outside the center. It’s ideal if you want a quiet night and don’t need bars, karaoke, or discos nearby. There’s a park close by, and you can walk, jog, or bike around the lake in the morning or evening. Good restaurants, nice cafés, and even an ice cream parlor are nearby. Mr. O, the manager, takes great care of guests’ needs, and the staff are very friendly. The price is fair for what you get, so we can recommend Hotel THE LAKE without reservation.

Breakfast comes with a choice of American or Thai dishes. The room is simple, very clean, and spacious, with what I’d call a minimalist style. The location is very good, close to Nong Prachak Park, where the Songkran celebration takes place.

The local traditional breakfast styles were yummy, and the rooms were clean, with good air conditioning and Wi-Fi. Everything was a pleasure from arrival through departure. The rooms have everything you need, and every staff member did a great job with a friendly service-minded attitude. Thank you for the service.
