Friday Hotel

Good value for the price, with a clean, spacious room and helpful, friendly staff. It's an old-style hotel. The bed was okay, though I found the pillow rather high and quite stiff. Breakfast could use more.

The rooms are huge, though the old-style decor may not suit everyone. My room had its own router for wifi, which was a big plus. The bathroom felt a bit small with the bathtub, and it would have been nice to have some soap for making bath foam. The hotel is part of a large shopping complex with a Japanese restaurant and even a computer shop. The first floor of the complex was under construction during my stay, so it could be interesting once that work is finished.

The price is great for what's provided. Beds are comfortable, the central air conditioning gets cold, the shower has hot water, and there's a small fridge. The room has just one outlet, which isn't very digital nomad friendly, and the wifi is okay but drops pretty often. Breakfast is standard Thai fare: rice soup, toast, coffee, and water. If you want a quiet night, ask for a room away from the bar and live music.

The hotel itself is very good, with big rooms, comfortable beds, lovely views over Uttaradit at sundown, and restaurants of a good standard. The staff were friendly, but didn't seem suited to the job and caused more problems than they solved. Check-in was far from smooth, and restaurant service was annoying. A multi-star hotel deserves better staff. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day.
