Sunee Boutique Hotel

The motor noise was awful and kept me awake, so the 500B room charge felt wasted for that night. I eventually asked to move, and the staff kindly found me an empty room on the quiet side. They really need to fix that horrible noise.

For 500 baht, I got a hard bed and two hard pillows in an extremely bare room. The place is a bit out of the way, and the door has no extra security, just a button on a dodgy knob. If all you need is somewhere to sleep for one night, I suppose it works. I don't think the owners know what “boutique” means.

The local streets are a real problem because aggressive dogs go for you when you try to walk down them. The owners and Thai government need to get a grip on it, as it's very bad for tourism. In the U.K., the owner would be arrested and the dog destroyed. At the hotel, the staff were pleasant and helpful, and it was clean and comfortable. The balcony and plenty of light made it feel nice, and it was cheaper than the other nearby hotels, so good value.

My room was 309, looking out over the big futsal fields behind the building with nothing blocking the view. The school in front seemed crowded, though maybe I just left early and came back late. The third floor gets too hot, and there's no elevator, so I'd avoid it. The parking area is dark and rocky, with a few small steps, so walk carefully. Price was reasonable.
