Grand 5 Hotel & Plaza Sukhumvit Bangkok

Everything was close by, which made getting around and shopping easy. I found the location really convenient, and the room was clean, comfortable, and well kept. Housekeeping did a good job, and the hotel felt calm despite the busy surroundings. Staff were polite and helpful when I needed them. I had a pleasant stay at Grand 5 Hotel and Plaza and would consider coming back.

The shower had strong water pressure, which was the one thing I liked. Otherwise, the room felt dated and poorly ventilated, and the hotel was older than its online photos suggested. I booked a non-smoking room, but could still smell cigarette smoke. The spring mattress wasn't very comfortable, traffic from the main road was easy to hear, and the air conditioner was noisy too. Breakfast choices were very limited.

WARNING! The hotel calls itself four-star, but it didn't come close for me. My room was dirty, with what looked like ten years of dust behind the TV, and it smelled awful. The bathroom was mouldy, and the walls were so thin I could hear every whisper. The front desk manager, an Indian bald guy, was super rude, and I felt the hotel's system was ripping customers off. They charged me 1000 baht to wash a few underwear and two shirts. That's a lot when the laundromat across the street costs 150 baht. Everywhere, all I saw and heard was Arabic. It felt like I was in Saudia. For the money they ask, you get nothing and less.

There’s no pool, but the hotel deserves a higher rating than its 7 on Booking, in my view. My room was marvelous, spacious enough, very quiet, and had a nice bed, bath, and toilet. The location is central.
