The neighborhood doesn’t offer many amenities. The 7-Eleven is 700 meters away, and there are lots of dogs roaming around at night. At 5 p.m., Agoda confirmed a king size bed and a room with a balcony. Then, while I was driving, the hotel emailed at 6:15 p.m. to say it was full. When I arrived, my girlfriend spoke with the woman because I don’t speak Thai. She said they’d given the room to someone who walked in without checking reservations. I ended up with no windows and two single beds on the main floor, and had to pay another 100 baht. I’m from Canada, and when I buy anything my credit card sends me an SMS from Canada within two minutes. I’ve traveled to more than 40 countries, and SMS has always been available.

There’s plenty nearby, and food is available on site. The rooms are great, with private patios, and it’s in an affluent neighborhood. Downtown is close enough, though it takes a wee walk to get there. A very good place and location.
