Armon Apart-hotel

The hotel is near good restaurants and a sports complex with a big swimming pool and other amenities. There’s also a cable car close by, with scenic city views as you cross the river. The rooms are clean and modern, and the staff are kind and helpful. They can take care of laundry and call a taxi for your next destination, which for us was the ouzbek border. Great hotel.

We were happy with our stay, though there doesn’t seem to be anything else to compare it with in Khujand. It looks like an apartment complex from the SSR era that the owner is turning into suites. Our unit wasn’t fully finished, so I’d give it a few months for the renovation and cleaning to be completed.

There’s a vegetarian cafe downstairs, handy if you fancy lentil soup instead of classic Tajik food. It’s also easy to walk over the bridge to the Citadel. The room was clean, with good wifi, a large comfortable bed and bedding big enough for two, which isn’t a given in Tajikistan. The shower had strong pressure and plenty of hot water, also rare. The friendly owner and staff speak English, and they provided a kettle, teapot and bowls, another uncommon touch. Great value for money, since you could pay more and get less. I’d recommend it and would definitely stay here again.

The staff went out of their way to help with everything I needed. The hotel was comfortable and felt very safe, and I got a lot for what I paid. I wouldn’t recommend staying anywhere else.
