Iris Thalasso And Spa

The food was very limited and cold, and cats sat by our feet begging for food. We ended up paying to move to another hotel. We gave this place a chance despite the good and bad reviews, but I would never return. It felt like a holiday from hell. My partner and I chose it for the pool, spa, and bars, but when we arrived, we were told only one bar was open, and we couldn't get a pint. The outdoor pool was dirty. There was no entertainment going on apart from a pool table you had to pay to use. The spa and large indoor pool weren't open either, and the beach was derelict and locked up. When we asked why nothing was happening, they said it was Ramadan, though other hotels had plenty of activities and entertainment. From the moment we arrived, it was a disaster. The hotel was nothing like the website.

The receptionist was kind, but they said check-in could take about 1-6 hours even though we'd pre-booked a room. Apparently, the room keys and other things were missing. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The beach was a bit messy, but the sea was comfortable and the sellers didn't bother guests too much. Some of the staff did their jobs well, including the gardener, chefs, bar staff, animators, and especially one member of the beach bar team. The food was above average, and I didn't regret staying, though I'm not sure if I'll visit again. The hotel should improve room cleanliness and the competence of some receptionists.

The food was nice and varied, and a group of young guys put on activities like Zumba and a dancing show in the evening. They could be a bit pushy about getting people to join in, maybe because there weren't many visitors while I was there. We stayed three nights in total. One was extremely short, just two hours of sleep after arriving before we went on a tour around Tunisia. Then our group returned for the last two days of the trip. The rooms could use a refresh, and cleanliness needs checking. Mine was fine, but other people in the group had some complaints. Reception staff were nice, helpful, and fluent in English. The main bar staff weren't very friendly, and the pool bar staff didn't speak English at all. The bar selection was limited. There is a hotel beach, though nobody told us about it and we only found it on the last day. It's about 700 meters away. The water was nice, but the staff there weren't the friendliest I've encountered.
