We stopped for a meal during our tour. The place looked clean and nice, but the food was cold and there wasn’t much choice. It wasn’t for me.

Breakfast was decent, and the spacious room had a lovely large balcony. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel. One morning there was no hot water, though it was available every evening. Once the pool construction is finished, the place should be even better.

A calm, clean hotel with a nice atmosphere and tasty food. The service was good, and the prices were pretty reasonable. I’d definitely recommend it for a getaway.

The airport transfer was a really frustrating end to our stay. We asked the hotel to arrange a taxi for 7:30 am, and they insisted it was booked, but no car arrived. Reception couldn’t get hold of the driver and gave us no booking details or proof, so we still don’t know whether it had actually been confirmed. We missed our flight. A private individual offered to drive us for half the price, but it was already too late. I’d arrange transport myself and have a backup, especially for anything time-sensitive. Taxis in general can be unreliable, and the hotel isn’t central, so you’ll need one to reach the heart of El Jem. There was a lot to like about the hotel itself. Staff were mostly friendly and seemed to take pride in their jobs, from housekeeping and catering to the day-to-day work. We booked one room, then got a free upgrade to two rooms joined by an internal door. It felt like a private suite for the price of one room. The bathroom was modern, clean, and spacious, and the rooms, including the toilet, were cleaned every day. The hotel had plenty of international tourists, yet felt safe and well managed, with on-site security. There’s also a public astroturf football pitch nearby. We didn’t use it, but it was handy to have close. Lunch on our first day was very enjoyable, with a broad buffet selection and fresh fruit for dessert, so I was surprised by some of the negative reviews I’d read. Breakfast, though, was the same fixed menu each day rather than a buffet, and got repetitive. Being able to eat it at any time was convenient. The comfort, cleanliness, and general friendliness were good. I’d consider returning, but that failed airport taxi left a bad final impression.
