Concorde Marco Polo Hotel

We chose this hotel for our last night before flying out, and I’m glad we did. It was clean, with a quiet, relaxed feel, and the beach was lovely. We got up early for breakfast, which was decent, then spent time alone by the beach with my husband. The sunset there was magical, so don’t miss it. The hotel is old, but they’re doing their best to renovate and keep it in good shape. It was cold while we were there, though the pool looked very tempting. We noticed there was a show after dinner, but stayed on the balcony to relax instead. The welcome fruit and little flowers by the bed were a cute touch. The reception and kitchen staff were very nice, especially after some awful experiences at other hotels in Tunis.

The food was okay, if not very varied, and the cleanliness seemed fine, though we heard there had been cockroaches in another room. I stayed 12 days in September with the Itaka travel agency, and I’d give the hotel 2/5. Some of the people we dealt with were a real disappointment. The hotel photographer got pushy and even angry when asked about prices. The man with a camel on the beach was aggressive and wouldn’t leave us alone. The entertainment was meant to start at 9 p.m., but by 10 p.m. nothing had happened beyond music playing over and over while they dragged things out. The two guys leading pool exercises were genuinely great and kept things active. The other animators mostly seemed like figurants.

Even in low season, the staff were amazing and the entertainment team worked hard to keep things fun. The food was good and varied, and they were generous with drinks. A top hotel in Hammamet, with pretty much everything I’d want from a four star place.

We were very satisfied after spending a week here. The hotel is well located, with the center within walking distance, and the staff were wonderful. Reception were welcoming and helpful, especially dear Olfa. We had everything we needed without any trouble. Thank you for it all.
