At TND 50, this place is reasonable, though still a little overpriced. I paid TND 90 through booking.com, nearly double the direct price, which felt like a rip-off. It’s decent compared with the other choices nearby, and I’d recommend it. The rooms and the rest of the place were clean, and the white building with blue doors and shutters has a nice Tunisian feel. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Shops and a barber are down the road, and restaurants are about 1.5km away on foot. The hot water was fine, but the toilet is right beside the shower, which made getting out messy without a bath mat. That seems common in cheaper hotels and hostels I’ve come across in Africa. My pillow was small and uncomfortable, and the old spring mattress sank too much when I lay down.
The staff sent helpful tips over WhatsApp and were friendly. I had a comfortable stay, with clean rooms and beds, large lockers, a kitchen, and a co-working space that I didn’t use. I was there during Eid, when staff were on holiday and there were very few guests, so it was hard to get a feel for the place. The only small drawback was the bathroom: the toilet was almost inside the shower, and the floor flooded easily and often looked muddy.
The guy at reception was kind and friendly, and the bathroom was clean. I stopped in for coffee, which was okay, and this has been the cleanest place I’ve visited in Djerba so far. After seeing the island’s varying standards, that means a lot. Three cappuccinos and a bottle of sparkling water cost 2.5€. Totally worth it.
A local friend recommended this beautiful place, where I stayed as a hostel guest. They also have coliving and coworking options, and I can wholeheartedly recommend all of it. The staff are lovely to be around, super friendly and helpful, and speak English, Arabic, and French. It’s clean and safe, there’s a small shop with necessities, and the garden with its outdoor kitchen and grill rounds out the experience.
I visited in January 2024, and it wasn’t crowded. This is a distinctive coworking spot for IT nomads, with large, clean rooms that open on different sides. If you don’t have a car and plan to go downtown often, make sure to rent a bike.
