The pool areas were clean, with mattresses and parasols, and I especially liked the quiet pool. The shop was handy for small essentials, as there wasn’t anywhere right near the hotel to get them. I stayed for 11 nights and had a nice time. The restaurants served a good range of local and European food. I ate Tunisian dishes, though I was told the fresh pizzas were great. Having a barbecue at lunchtime every day was nice. In the evening there were several ice cream flavours, and I only wish they’d offered them at lunch as well. The waiters were lovely and looked after us well. The bar had a clear all-inclusive menu, and the staff were friendly. Abdul in particular gave great service. He always checked I was okay and never let me go without a drink. When he wasn’t working, I didn’t always get the same level of service from the others. The animation team had lots of energy and offered a good variety of activities. I especially enjoyed the evening dancing, the pottery and the clay face mask, which was the best I’ve had.

They advertise this as a four-star hotel, but I’d say three stars at best. The building is large and the views are nice, but some rooms have cockroaches. The food is basically the same every day, and it’s left uncovered, so flies can get to it. People come into the hotel from the beach at night, which makes me think security isn’t doing its job properly. If you’re a person of colour, I’d advise staying elsewhere, as the management’s behaviour comes across as racist. The hotel needs work: the roofs leaked during the storms, leaving the inside slippery and dangerous. A few staff members were good, but I won’t return. Hotel Phenicia is much better.

I was very happy with my choice and would highly recommend the hotel. It’s on the quieter side of Hammamet, and transport seems to be limited to taxis or a hire car. I walk a lot and managed the roughly three miles to Hammamet centre easily, but others may need a taxi, which reception can arrange. I stayed at Hotel Paradis Palace in early February 2026 and found it well maintained and exceptionally well managed. Every staff member I met was friendly and polite, and nothing seemed too much trouble. My second-floor room had a great view over the rear gardens and pools to the beach and sea. There was plenty of wardrobe and storage space, a wall-mounted flat-screen TV with French, German and Arabic channels, and a small fridge that was useful for chilling bottled water. The en suite was a good size, with a shower over the bath. Towels were changed daily if requested, and a polite note asked guests to request fresh ones only when needed to help the environment. The room was warm enough in February and thoroughly cleaned every day. I was on an all-inclusive plan and liked the buffet meals, since I could choose my own portions instead of being served too much. There was a notice saying food waste would be charged for, though I didn’t see anyone being charged.

We stayed at Paradis Palace in Tunisia with a group of 12, including my mother Rehana and me. The whole stay was flawless, and the hotel made it easy for everyone to be together. Staff arranged seating for our group at meals and made sure our rooms were well situated. The grounds were beautiful, with large pools and a pristine beach where all of us had plenty of room to relax together. There was lots of variety at the buffet, from Tunisian specialties to familiar favorites, so everyone in our group could find something to enjoy. The whole team was friendly and attentive, and they made us feel like family. It was a five-star experience for my mother, me and our group. A great choice for a large family or a big group of friends.

Update, 31/05/2026: After getting home, I filed an official complaint with TUI and sent photographic evidence. TUI investigated, apologized and gave me financial compensation, which shows my complaint was justified. 18/05/2026: My husband and I have just returned from a week at this supposed four-star hotel. We’ve travelled extensively, and in my opinion it’s more like a two-star. We stayed in ground-floor bungalow 105. It was clean but extremely dated. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, but the shower meant stepping down 50cm into a bath, and the water stayed lukewarm. The toilet cistern kept running, the air conditioning didn’t work, and clothes hung in the wardrobe became damp because of rising damp and the lack of a damp course. The door didn’t fit its frame, leaving a 1cm gap all around and daylight visible. Noise was a major problem. Every night from 9:30pm until 4:30am, we could clearly hear individual words from either the entertainment or nightclub, both of which were extremely loud and kept us awake. We usually left the bungalow before 9am each day and left the do not disturb sign on the outside knob, but it wasn’t cleaned until after 3pm. The towels were taken then and weren’t replaced until 5pm at the earliest. Twice, someone on staff tried to enter at night while we were in bed, without knocking or explaining why, then left without a word or apology. It was unsettling. The buffet food was terrible and always cold. Flies hovered over dishes left uncovered. Omelettes were runny and raw, chicken was pink inside, and the beef was full of gristle. Basic hygiene seemed to be ignored. The pizza and yummy desserts were the only edible things. Drinks were limited and cheap in both flavour and quality. A few times my husband ordered cola or lemonade, but it tasted like dish soap when he tried it, so he threw it away. The older staff seemed to favour French and German guests and ignore British guests, and they were rude to us. If we were first in line at the bar, they acted as if they hadn’t seen us, and when they did serve us, they pretended not to understand. The patio around the pools was covered in weeds. Pool towels cost five dinar a day to hire, with no refund, so buying one from the hotel shop was cheaper. The hotel does have direct access to a lovely beach, but its location is poor. You need a taxi to reach Hammamet, and most nearby buildings are derelict, making the area feel neglected. On arrival, we were told the tourist tax was 12 dinar each and should come to 96 dinar per person, 192 for both of us. The receptionist tried to charge us 384 dinar, twice as much, even though he’d confirmed a few seconds earlier that we were staying for one week. Check this carefully when paying. Also, if we sat on the bungalow terrace and didn’t close the sliding door straight away, a local feral cat would sneak inside. The comfortable bed and pillows, lovely desserts and sunny weather were the only positives I can mention.
