Residence Romane--FR

The food was okay, though there wasn't much choice at the restaurant, and meals had a relaxed atmosphere. For what we paid, the stay was definitely worth it, and we'd recommend it to families wanting a comfortable, convenient base. Our room was modern, clean, and surprisingly spacious, which worked really well for our family. The kids loved the clean, nice pool, and the beach was close enough to make going back and forth easy.

The food and private beach were just okay, though that's fair for the price. This is a very clean hotel and a solid deal for a budget stay. One beach is 10 min away, another is 15 min away, and the city center is 20 min away via a nice walk along the beach. The receptionist was helpful and very nice, and the staff were friendly and answered all our questions. The pools and rooms were clean too.

The pool was a real plus, with both an indoor and outdoor one, and swimming in a Burkini was fine. Our room was cleaned every day, and Ameena was so lovely with my kids that I couldn't resist tipping her each time she cleaned. Maria and the Manager were also really helpful and offered lots of excursions and things to do in Tunisia. The staff were fantastic throughout the week, and I found the hotel Muslim friendly since they don't sell alcohol. Rooms are basic, as you'd expect from a 3 star hotel. The toilet flush wasn't working, but reception fixed it straight away. The beach took about a 10 min walk, farther than I'd expected, and I was disappointed by it. Hotel beach chairs were being rented to people who weren't staying there, so we had to wait until someone left to get a chair. I didn't like the beach. It's a pleasant 15-20min walk to the main centre, straight along the road to the right as you leave the hotel. I didn't bother with a taxi because I thought they'd probably recommend going to Yasmine to charge more. I can't recommend the hotel and Tunisia enough, and can't wait to visit again.

The staff and owner were extremely friendly, and I had a wonderful week there. It's basic, no-frills accommodation, but clean, with lovely food and a continental breakfast. They have a small beach of their own, and other beaches and restaurants aren't far away. It's a 2 star budget hotel that should be 3. I couldn't fault it and would happily return.
