Dar El Marsa

The service was outstanding, and the hotel felt both beautiful and cosy. Traditional wooden details give it a lot of character. I’d happily recommend it.

The hotel is cute and modern, in a great walkable location. Our room was spacious and clean, breakfast was really good, and we even received a complimentary upgrade to a suite. The main problem was the AC. It barely worked, even after the night shift worker came to check it. In Tunisia in August, that made it hard to sleep. The staff understood and offered a portable fan, but when we asked to move rooms, they said they couldn’t, even though we’d been told at check-in that a smaller room was available. It’s a lovely hotel, but having no decent air conditioning in Tunisia in August isn’t a minor oversight.

The open-plan kitchen and lounge where breakfast is served really stood out to me. It has a Tunisian look with a modern touch, and the interior feels carefully thought through, down to the details. The breakfasts were simple and tasty, and that, along with the people, made the stay feel worthwhile. Dar El Kif is a calm little oasis away from the bustle you meet outside in La Marsa. The staff were welcoming, and when I turned up half an hour late for breakfast one day, the owner cheerfully offered to make me something to eat. Local shops are close for cash, a phone card, or a bite, and the nearest beach is about a 5-10 minute walk. I loved this place. Thank you, Dar El Kif, and all the best!

The architecture and decor were beautiful, authentic, and warm. My husband and I felt right at home. The staff were really nice too. Elyes was especially thoughtful about my dietary condition and went out to buy gluten-free snacks for me to have with the hotel buffet breakfast. Oumaya also gave us such a kind welcome.
