Mahdia beach & aquapark

The beach was lovely, and the entertainment team were great. There were plenty of excursions and things for children to do, plus an aqua park and a supermarket next door. I had a relaxing, enjoyable holiday and would return for a familiar, quick getaway. My room was beautiful and kept reasonably clean. It was in the annexe, away from the bustle of the main building where my friends and their children stayed. The buffet meals were fresh and tasty, with a decent range of choices and little stations for eggs and omelettes, jacket potatoes, crisps, chips, doughnuts and crêpes. The bar, shop, beach and pool staff were friendly and helpful. Most restaurant servers seemed dismissive unless tipped, though a tall man with glasses and curly hair was always kind and gave great service. Habib at the bar was lovely, helpful and hardworking. One serious problem: after a stray cat scratched me while I was eating lunch, I tried to contact the on-call doctors. They never came or even replied, so I got rabies vaccinations after returning home. Don’t count on medical support. There’s no ATM at the hotel, and reception only exchanges currency. The closest ATM is 15-20 minutes away, so I’d take money out at the airport.
