Palm Djerba Suites

The staff were so sweet and helpful, and the pool area was very clean and calm when we visited in low season. The rooms were nice, a little outdated but nothing major or concerning. Breakfast was simple and delicious, with eggs, bread, cheese, pastries, and coffee. It’s an easy 15 minute walk to the beach, where plenty of vendors pass by with camels. Really good value for the money, and I’d recommend it.

We got a 65% booking discount, so the very spacious suites were good value. But we were there in January, and the heating on the air conditioning didn’t work in any of the rooms. The main room window wouldn’t close either. We reported it to reception twice, and both times they sent a maintenance person who disappeared without saying a word. A big disappointment.

The staff were very nice and helpful, and our apartment style room gave us plenty of privacy. We were travelling with our teenage daughter, and it would work well for two couples too. There were two bedrooms, each with a balcony, plus two bathrooms with showers. The little efficiency kitchen meant we could eat in a couple of nights. Live music at the cafe on Friday and Saturday was lovely, and surprisingly, we couldn’t hear much of it in our rooms. I’d definitely come back.

It was okay for a few days, but the place is old and needs some basic things replaced. The towels were very worn and no longer white, and the mattresses and pillows need refurbishing. The pillows in our room were too high, old, and poor quality, some made of sponge. We asked for better ones, but they only dealt with it very late. I left with bad neck pain and needed to take painkillers for at least a week.
