Sfax felt safe and clean, which added to a comfortable stay. I found this hotel convenient for exploring, right by the main train station and only a five-minute walk from the medina. Staff spoke enough English to communicate well, even if they weren’t fluent. Breakfast was a basic continental spread, but it was fine. I booked through Agoda.com at about 10% below the usual price, and the booking went smoothly with an immediate email confirmation. The hotel itself surprised me: clean and safe, with rooms that could rival some five-star places elsewhere in Tunisia. It felt like a high-end four-star stay. Sfax isn’t usually considered a tourist destination, though it has its charms for particular visits. After traveling extensively around Tunisia, I’d say this is a convenient, reasonably priced option for business or leisure in a less touristy part of the country.

Everything was great here. One of the best hotels in Tunisia.

The staff were kind, but most didn’t speak much English, and the woman at reception was plainly rude with no customer service skills. The Wi-Fi was unreliable, cutting in and out. The pool wasn’t working during my stay. The rooms felt old and dirty, and smelled bad, a mix of old odors and bleach. My curtains were stained, and the toilet seat had turned brown from years of use. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable. The hotel also smelled of smoke. There’s a club nearby, so bring earplugs if you want to sleep, or just avoid this place. Food at the hotel restaurant was terrible and had no taste. The gym was small and dirty, with used towels left hanging around. By far the worst hotel I’ve visited. For your own sake, stay somewhere else.

The food and drinks were excellent, and there was plenty of hot water. The hotel itself is good, though it’s looking a little tired in places. The woman working reception in the morning and early afternoon was rude and contemptuous toward guests, a disgrace. The gentlemen who take over in the afternoon are very helpful. Management should take note: the red-haired receptionist is a terrible representative of the hotel and clearly hates her job and the guests.

The location is great, and the rooms were clean and well appointed. Staff were courteous, helpful, and efficient throughout. Reception handled both check-in and check-out quickly, with very little fuss. Breakfast was a little basic, just the usual cooked or continental choices, but everything was fresh. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
