Hotel Sfax Palace by Plaza Hotels & Resorts

The breakfast restaurant was another disappointment. Hygiene seemed poor, and the food was neither fresh nor varied. There was little choice, and it was presented below standard. When we arrived, the room wasn't maintained properly and the cleanliness was unacceptable for this category of hotel. It was missing basics like slippers and shower gel. We tried calling staff several times and got no response. The stay at Radisson Hotel Sfax was well below what I'd expect from an established international brand. Service and cleanliness both suggest management lacks basic hospitality expertise. For what we paid, the value simply isn't there. A well-run local hotel would have been a much better choice.

Once inside, the experience was much better. The service was quick, the rooms comfortable, and the architecture and interior design were fancy. Each room had its own WiFi, while the lobby had a strong connection. There were large screens with different channels and services, plus a huge, well-equipped conference room. You can also go up to the highest floor for the pool, spa, other services, and a view across all of SFAX. Finding the hotel at night was difficult, since the location was unclear and hard to spot. Still, I recommend it to anyone after a special experience in central Sfax.

We went as a family of five to the rooftop on the 9th floor on August 29th, expecting premium service for the high prices. Instead, it was the WORST dining experience of my life. We felt ignored and disrespected the whole evening. No one checked whether we wanted more drinks, the ashtrays weren't cleared, and empty bottles piled up on the table. When the food came, the waiter put all five plates in front of me, apparently expecting me to serve everyone. I politely asked about the poor service, and the staff answered rudely and arrogantly, as though we were bothering them. For those prices, decent service is the bare minimum. The place could have been enjoyable, but the staff are ruining it. They should honestly be retrained or fired. Don't go. Save your money and time. This was hands down the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant anywhere in the world.

The restaurant especially needs more care, and the overall standard is far below Radisson. Breakfast was poor. There were no spoons on the plates for serving food, and a server suggested using the same spoon across different plates, which was weird. The salt and black pepper containers were plastic.
