Hotel Royal Jinene & Hotel Jinene

The rooms are spacious, and the staff are especially kind and attentive. They try to sort out every complaint. The food has variety, though I’d have liked more fish and fruit, and the sausages weren’t good quality. There’s pleasant music in the daytime and evenings, plus organized activities for both children and adults. It’s an enjoyable spot for a quiet holiday if you’re not looking for luxury. The hotel must have been very good in its day, and it’s maintained as well as it can be now.

I came expecting an all-inclusive trip where we could relax, but the hotel left us with a sour feeling about Tunisia. We won’t be back. The food was prepared daily but wasn’t hot, so it had to be reheated in the microwave on the buffet counter. My vegetarian travel companion had almost no vegetable dishes to choose from, leaving salad as the only option. The bar staff often looked angry, limited us to one drink at a time, and we had to keep reusing small glasses or take little paper cups, despite being all-inclusive. There was nothing for children to do, with no activities. The receptionist was warm and friendly, as were the spa staff, but management needs to learn more about hospitality and running a hotel. Pictures online seemed to be about seven years old, so I’d avoid this place unless you’re going on a diet. One companion lost £165 in Tunisian cash, so be aware that cash may be taken before you pass immigration. Bags also seemed to go missing throughout the hotel, so keep your belongings padlocked in your room. For a guide, I’d recommend the Yellow Taxis rather than a shopkeeper.

Hotel Jinene has entertainment and a show every day, plus indoor and outdoor pools, a private beach, and a spa just two minutes from the pool. The massages were great. Staff were always ready to help with anything, and it’s a lovely place to unwind. Food could be a little better, but if you enjoy trying new flavours, you’ll probably like it. It was my first visit to Tunisia, and I had a wonderful time. I’ll be back, thank you Jinene ❤️

The restaurant always had plenty of food and choice, and we both had great massages at the spa. Thank you Nour! On New Year’s Eve we had a lovely dinner, then drinks at the pool bar, where the staff scattered petals over our table. It made a romantic memory for my wife and me. We’ve just come back from a short stay at Royal Jinene. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Faatin at reception. We’d happily return, inshallah! :-)
