Kanta Hotel

The food was tasteless, terrible, and overpriced. Guests aren’t allowed to bring in water, soda, or food, so you’re forced to buy everything inside at high prices. Wi-Fi only works in the lobby, and there’s no free drinking water. When we arrived by bus, I had to haul my own bags all the way in instead of having staff unload and carry them. I got to Hôtel Kanta at 8 a.m., but they kept me waiting until 2 p.m. for a room. Nobody mentioned the delay beforehand. Only after I arrived did they tell me the room was ready and that I had to wait until 2 to go in. The bed and mattress were very old, and there was an old bunk bed too. You need your room card for electricity, and if you leave it inside and go out, they charge 30 TND just to open the door. The security search when I entered was aggressive from head to toe, like I was going into a military camp. It felt humiliating and intimidating. Staff also walk around in slippers and look very unprofessional. While I was asleep, cleaning staff came into my room without knocking. They took a soda and tried to open my suitcase. I found it scratched and damaged. I give this place one star. Dirty rooms, rude treatment, theft, and low-quality food at high prices made for a stressful stay. If you want to waste your money and get stressed, book here. Otherwise, stay away.
