Dar El Kif La Marsa

The hotel is cute and modern, in a great location that’s easy to explore on foot. We stayed one night and got a free upgrade to a suite. The room was clean and spacious, and breakfast was really good. Unfortunately, the AC barely worked, which is a real problem in Tunisia in August. The night shift worker came up to check, and staff were sympathetic and offered a portable fan to help us sleep. We asked to switch rooms, but were told they couldn’t move us, even though we’d been told at check-in that a smaller room was available. It’s a lovely hotel, but having no decent air conditioning in August isn’t a small oversight.

The open-plan kitchen and lounge where breakfast is served really stood out to me. It feels Tunisian with a modern touch, and the interior is thoughtfully put together, with attention to detail. The breakfasts are simple and tasty, and the people made the place for me. The staff are wonderful and welcoming. One day I was half an hour late for breakfast, and the owner still offered to make me something with a smile. The whole place feels like a peaceful oasis in the middle of bustling La Marsa. Local shops are close if you need cash, a phone card, or something to eat, and the nearest beach is a 5-10 minute walk away. I loved staying here. Thank you, Dar El Kif, and all the best!

My husband and I were fascinated by the architecture and decor, which felt warm and authentic, and the place made us feel at home. It’s stunning, and the staff are so nice. A special thank you to Elyes, who was thoughtful about my dietary condition and went out to buy gluten-free snacks for my breakfast, and to Oumaya for the kind welcome.
