Right in the heart of the Medina, this guesthouse is quiet and restful despite all the bustle around it. The building has loads of historical and cultural character, and the owner is genuinely friendly and warm. Outside the alley, the food stalls and cafes have such a welcoming local feel. My one disappointment was the lack of hot water, so I couldn't have a proper hot shower.

The roof terrace was a lovely spot to sit and unwind, and the place was spotless. Dar Ya is a traditional, beautiful and calm retreat in the middle of the lively, chaotic Medina. The staff were kind and welcoming, and we were very happy staying here.

The hotel itself is beautiful, clean, and nicely decorated, and the staff were all welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was amazing too. But as a solo woman traveller, I unfortunately wouldn't recommend staying here. It's deeper inside the Tunis Medina, and I didn't feel safe walking back alone at night. You also have to walk about 10 minutes to get out of the Medina and find a taxi. For other kinds of travellers, I'd happily recommend this Dar.

Omar gave us especially good ideas about places to eat and things to see, and the staff were polite, helpful with local exploring, and spoke several languages. The breakfast, made with local ingredients, was delicious. Dar Ya is very clean, tastefully decorated, and well equipped for a comfortable stay. Set on a quiet street in the middle of the Medina, it feels like a peaceful refuge. Don't miss the rooftop views. Thanks for making our trip so memorable!

The staff are incredible, so friendly and helpful, and even the neighbors are lovely. There’s a cute little roof terrace and a simple, wonderful breakfast in the morning. I felt completely at home in this magical, calm and very safe part of the Medina. The rooms are lovely and the location is iconic, but getting there by taxi is difficult, so you have to walk the last bit. Once you know the way, it's easy to find. The hallway carries noise, so you can hear a lot; bring earplugs for the night. This place really felt like a home away from home ❤️❤️❤
