We visited in the off season and had the gorgeous island to ourselves. Patti and Sami were extraordinary hosts who gave us a memorable experience. It’s the perfect place to slow down and take in nature’s beauty. We left feeling inspired.

The meals were a highlight every time, thanks to Sparky and Mate, who cooked incredible food. Sammy and Patty were wonderful hosts, and you can feel how much care they’ve put into the place. We slept so well on a comfy mattress with the waves in the background. After a full day, the hot solar showers were just right. Whale swimming was unforgettable. I’d highly recommend this special place.

Falling asleep and waking to the waves in the beachside bungalows was deeply relaxing. The resort has a barefoot, eco-friendly kind of luxury. Patty was a lovely host, and Mate and Sparky were warm and welcoming, making the meals unforgettable. Reading Patty Ernst’s book, Journey to Serenity, made the stay feel more personal and meaningful. We had a wonderful time and would gladly recommend the resort.

We came to Serenity for 4 nights in early October and got to enjoy this beautiful spot with only a few other guests. The Bali house is open to nature and has a rustic look, but the staff worked hard behind the scenes, cleaning the rooms a couple of times a day and bringing hot showers and solar lights. Patti was caring and lovely, and I’m glad we got to know her. Mate served fresh, delicious food with a big smile every time. We also took the Serenity boat hoping to swim with whales. The two local men with us worked hard to make it a great outing, and they did. Even though it was near the end of whale season, we swam with a whale and her calf. It was a magical moment I’ll always remember. Thank you, Serenity.

The beach is lovely, and seeing whales up close was incredible. But the resort costs far too much. The bungalows are basic, with no hot water, salty cold water, no windows, and no air conditioning. The food tastes good, but portions are so small that everyone was hungry. At this price, I at least expect to leave a meal feeling full.
