Arya Otel Sakarya

It was quiet and calm, and the room was self-contained, with tea and coffee to make yourself. I drank all the beverages they left in the room. I usually sleep on the floor, so I didn't try the bed, though it looked great.

We needed fresh air, so we opened the windows, and slept with earplugs to block the outside noise. The room smelled strongly of cigarettes and was noisy.

The breakfast was delicious, and the prices were reasonable. The hotel was also very clean, the staff friendly, and the location good. Compared with other places at the same star level, this one felt like more than a 4-star hotel.

I stayed here in May 2016. The price was similar to Istanbul old town, though the hotel wasn't very close to the city centre. My room had stains on the sheets and bedding and wasn't very clean. Even though it was meant to be non-smoking, there was a strong cigarette smell. The front desk staff spoke little English and didn't explain the Wi-Fi, breakfast hours, or where breakfast was served. Wi-Fi was extremely slow and sometimes didn't work at all in the evening.
