Antiochos Hotel

The food was amazing, five stars. They serve it outdoors under a tent, which made it feel like we were somewhere else. The manager was so sweet and nice. He was smiling and positive, both of which matter a lot in hospitality. The owner has a great staff. I loved the room’s decor. When I walked in, I was shocked by how thoughtfully everything had been chosen. You worry about the rooms when traveling to places like this, but this one was the complete opposite of what I feared.

The restaurant and spa aren’t working at the moment because part of the hotel was damaged in the February 2023 earthquake. The rooms in the lower, safer building are perfect and very comfortable, with a cozy bed, working hot water, and good heating. The staff are incredibly sweet and helpful. You can sit with them in the lobby for hot tea, and they arranged a Mount Nemrut tour for me. The owner lost part of the building and some family members in the earthquake. Restaurants are reachable by city bus or taxi, which the staff can arrange, and supermarkets are about a 10-minute walk away. Please support these people by visiting.

Getting into the city center on foot was easy, and the rooms felt clean and brand new. The staff were great too. Meals were okay, though not perfect. There can be noise when local weddings are held here, so instead of complaining, you should join in :)

The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the rooms were okay, though not the best. I wouldn't call it a proper 4-star hotel. What bothered me was finding out at checkout that the minibar prices had gone up because, as I was told, “the papers are not updated.” A business trying to keep its clients happy should update the papers and the information folder in the room, then charge the listed price.
