Mcg Marble Hotel

Breakfast was good, with an acceptable range and quality of food, and the staff were polite and respectful. The hotel was clean and bright, and our room was spacious and clean as well. Getting around was easy because the location gave us convenient access to most of the city's main attractions and tourist spots. The room did have a couple of drawbacks. The toilet bowl looked stained, even though it was presumably clean, and the shower took a long time to produce warm water. The built-in AC was so noisy that sleeping peacefully was difficult. There was also a portable evaporative cooler, but its water ran out quickly and we had to get up at night to refill it. It made the room humid and uncomfortable, too. In our view, fixing the main AC would make the cooler unnecessary. Apart from those issues, the stay was pleasant, with a few things that could be improved.

I liked the sauna, and the service in the hotel restaurant was good. Our rooms were spacious, nice, and very clean, though cables were sticking out of the ceiling.

Getting help from the staff was the main letdown. They didn't speak English, which made communication really hard, and they didn't seem willing to help. The hotel itself was always clean and organized. It's in a central spot near plenty of shops, and breakfast had lots of options and good food. The furniture is old, giving the place an antique hotel look.

The location was good, and we had a nice view of the hill from our room. But this doesn't feel worthy of four stars. The rooms smelled damp and had poor ventilation, which was hard for me as someone with asthma. The AC didn't work, and the big blower they provided made the smell worse. The beds were very hard, though that's personal. Breakfast was poor, dry, and had little choice if you don't want vegetables in the morning. There was a very strong perfume smell in the elevator. The shower leaked and left the whole bathroom wet, and the place was very outdated.
